What should I do about my Colonoscopy appointment if I tested positive for COVID?

I have no heavy symptoms and am fully vaccinated, but I tested positive today after being exposed to the virus through other members of my family. I am 63 years old with no significant health issues – it was just a regular appointment for screening. Do I need to cancel the colonoscopy? Would I be putting clinic staff at risk if I proceed with the necessary precautions?

If you tested positive for Covid, the procedure has to be canceled. I believe you will have to wait 6 weeks before it can be rescheduled. Call the doctor’s office who you are having the procedure with to check.
