In general you want to be on a clear liquid diet at last 24 hours before a colonoscopy to get the best results. Clear liquids means anything you can see through. Avoid red, orange or green dyes if possible. Also avoid anything with seeds, corn or what we consider “high residual” foods for at least 2-3 days prior to the procedure.
