Is a colonoscopy needed?
I have had three colonoscopies in the past fifteen years. The last one was five years ago. I have been scheduled every five years because polyps have been found everytime. They have been diagnosed as benign. It has been five years since my last colonoscopy and I was scheduled to have the test repeated this year. However, I have a different doctor at the VA and he decided that I should wait ten years to have the test, 2017. I guess I want to know if this is in my best interest or just saving money at the VA.

If you have had adenomas every time then you should have a colonoscopy every 5 years.
