How often does colon cancer survivors need to have a Colonoscopy?

My cancer was discovered back in 2009 at the age of 59. I had surgery to remove it in August 2010 and then I underwent chemo afterwards. I have been going for colonoscopies since this time. My last one was in 2019. I am now 72. When is the next time I should go if at all?

Every 5 years assuming that your last Colonoscopy didn’t show polyps. If it did, you need to check with your gastro physician since you might need to be seen sooner.

It depends on if you had polyps in 2019. I would suggest you reach out to your GI doctor about the specific date to repeat.
