How do I reduce the risk factors of colon cancer?
I am 53 years old and haven’t had a colonoscopy yet. I try to keep a good diet without processed foods and I exercise fairly regularly. My family doesn’t have a history of cancer or colon cancer. What are the other risk factors of colon cancer and how do I minimize this risk?

The only ways to decrease the risk of colon cancer is to follow a healthy, avoid being overweight and avoid tobacco. However, there is no substitute for undergoing a screening test for colon cancer and colonoscopy has been proven to be the best test.
In general, a lower fat diet and less red meat as well as the items you addressed. Also avoiding tobacco is a must.
