Do I need a colonoscopy after only 3 years?

What circumstances would require me to have another colonoscopy when I had one in 2009?

The time between colonoscopies is related to the findings from previous tests and the risk associated with developing cancer. Many of these risks are associated with polyp growth in the colon. Please talk with your gastroenterologist that performed your last colonoscopy about the conditions related to a repeat colonoscopy. If you do not have a gastroenterologist please talk with your Primary Care doctor about being seen at Indianapolis Gastroenterology.

If you had more than 2 polyps, any large polyps, or high risk polyps, you would need a colonoscopy in 3 years. You should discuss this with your gastroenterologist.
