Q

Can there be health problems if my colon was not properly cleaned during my colonoscopy?

Had a Colonoscopy today. Doctor said Suprep did not clean out my colon after being under anesthia. What is the alternative and what could be the problem?

you may have a motility issue with your colon which can lead to chronic constipation. I would recommend a repeat colonoscopy with a more aggressive prep over 2 days to verify that your colon is normal.

The prep medication (Suprep in this case) helps clean your bowel in preparation for the colonoscopy procedure. Drinking fluids during the preparation period will help flush and clean the bowel lining. Please speak with the doctor about recommendations since other health conditions can have an impact on the prep used.
