Can I get assistance for a colonoscopy if I have diverticulitis?

My Doctor would like me to have a colonoscopy. I have blood in my stool and was diagnosed with diverticulitis this past December. I have no Medical Insurance and $1,500.00 for the colonoscopy is a financial hardship. Do you know of any foundation or groups that help with medical expenses? Thank you any and all info I may get.

I am not aware of any way to get assistance to pay for your procedure. You may want to try the county hospital in your area. Otherwise, you can try to negotiated a lower price with your gastroenterologist.

Blood in the stool is always a worrisome symptom. Unfortunately, I dont know of any charitable organizations specifically for colonoscopy. County health facilities and clinics may have resources that can be utilized for this.
