Dr. Mahmood serves as clinical assistant professor of medicine at University of Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, and the co-program director of the GI Fellowship Program. Previously, he was an attending physician at Marshfield Clinic, as well as a resident house officer at Lahore General Hospital and Mayo Hospital. Dr. Mahmood practices general gastroenterology with a special focus on IBD, Barrett’s esophagus, achalasia and nutritional disorders. He has contributed to various research and improvement projects regarding colon cancer screening procedures. He earned his medical degree from King Edward Medical University, then went on to complete his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
