Dr. Alexander Shapsis is a New York Gastroenterologist. Dr. Shapsis is fellowship-trained and Board-Certified. He specializes in hepatology, hepato-billiary diseases, as well as all other aspects of gastroenterology. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry with minors in Philosophy and Math from New York University after moving to the US with his family in 1991. He received his medical training at SUNY Downstate School of Medicine where he graduated Cum Laude and finished near the top of his class. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Shapsis conducted his Internal Medicine Residency at St. Vincents Medical Center of Manhattan and then, at St. Vincents Medical Center of Manhattan and The Mount Sinai Hospital, completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology. Ardently committed to the treatment of colon cancer and care of his patients, Dr. Shapsis is a published author of several gastroenterology research articles. Alexander Shapsis has certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
