Doctor Rudy Rai is Maryland gastroenterologist who is the Medical Director of the Gastro Center of Maryland. Dr. Rai has been practicing medicine in Maryland for almost 20 years. He is Board Certified in International and is also Board Certified in Gastroenterology & Hepatology. A Fellow of the American college of Gastroenterology, Dr. Rai is regarded as a national expert and leader in the fields of liver disease and gastroenterology. For 15 years, Dr. Rai has served on the Medical Faculty in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Rai has also served as Director of Clinical Effectiveness and Medical Director of Adult Liver Transplantation at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Doctor Rudy Rai completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Johns Hopkins University. He then completed another year of Advanced Fellowship in Transplant Hepatology and Biliary Disorders, also at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Rai has authored numerous chapters in medical textbooks and has published dozens of articles in peer reviewed, scholarly journals. He has also pioneered innovative, new medical techniques. Dr. Rai has received recognition for his contributions to the field of gastroenterology. Some of the awards that Dr. Rai has earned include the Johns Hopkins University Passano Clinician Scientist Award, American Digestive Health Foundation Astra-Merck Award, and American College of Gastroenterology Excellence in Clinical Research Award.
