Dr. James A. Jacob is from Columbus, Ohio. In 1985, he completed his undergraduate studies at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He then went on to Ohio State University, where he received his medical Degree in 1989. He conducted his internship and residency in Ann Arbor, Michigan at the University of Michigan, finishing in 1992. He then trained at the Indiana University Medical Center, finishing his gastroenterology fellowship work in 1994. Dr. Jacob is currently board-certified in gastroenterology and sees patients at Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology, where he has been practicing for more than 17 years.
Dr. Jacob is associated with the American College of Gastroenterology (AGA), the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the Indiana State Medical Association (ISMA) and the Indianapolis Medical Society (IMS). Throughout the years he has held a number of leadership positions in the Central Indiana healthcare community contributing including positions at the Peer Review and Quality Assurance Committee at Community Hospital South and on the Board of St. Francis Mooresville Endoscopy Center. In the past, Dr. Jacob has also served as President of Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Jacob is happily married with 3 kids and considers himself a golf enthusiast.
