Dr. J. Scott Buckley, a native of Kokomo, Indiana, studied at Purdue University. He then continued his education at Indiana University School of Medicine where he earned a Medical Degree inDegree in 1990. By 1995, his internship, residency and gastroenterology fellowship were all completed at Indiana University Medical Center. Dr. Buckley is now board-certified to practice both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He joined Indianapolis Gastroenterology and Hepatology immediately after completing his fellowship, where he currently practices.
Dr. Buckley is an active member of several medical boards, including that of the Indianapolis Gastroenterology Research Foundation and the Endoscopy Center at St. Francis. He also serves as Medical Director at the Endoscopy Center of St. Francis. He has also served as a member of St. Francis Hospital System’s Credentialing Committee since 2008. There, Dr. Buckley teaches techniques in family medicine for which he was honored with the Edward Micon, M.D. teaching prize in 2007.
Dr. Buckley is also a part of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), the Indianapolis Medical Society, the Indiana State Medical Association and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA). He conducts research and clinical studies on a regular basis. He is married with 3 kids and likes to play golf. He is also an active member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church.
