These procedures include office-based endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy (also known as pill cam or endo capsule), endoscopy, colon cancer screening, non-surgical hemorrhoid removal (also known as the CRC O’Regan System), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and other gastrointestinal services.

Dr. Mohammed A. Mahkri has received specialized training to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal diseases, which are diseases that affect the digestive system. Such diseases can affect a patient’s stomach, liver, small and large intestine, esophagus, gallbladder, and pancreas. Dr. Mahkri has performed over 11,000 gastrointestinal procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, PEG, ERCP, and endoscopy. Dr. Mahkri is dedicated to delivering the best medical care possible for each and every one of his patients. He strives to provide this high quality medical care in a professional, conscientious, courteous, caring, and cost effective manner. Dr. Mohammed A. Mahkri earned his medical degree from Osmania Medical College, which is located in Hyderabad, India. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and his residency in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Mahkri is Board Certified in Gastroenterology. In addition to serving as a staff physician at Provena Mercy and Rush Copley Medical Centers, Dr. Mahkri has been in private practice at Gastroenterology Clinics since 1997. He has been a Research Fellow in Gastroenterology at the Dallas VA Medical Center, which is part of the University of Texas and has authored many medical publications relating to the field of gastroenterology.
