Professional Bio

Dr. Loaiza-Bonilla is the vice chairman of the Department of Medical Oncology of Cancer Treatment Centers of America, where he previously helmed the National GI Program. He is also a senior medical director at Vidence, co-founder and chief medical advisor at Massive Bio, and teaching faculty at Drexel University College of Medicine. Prior to that, Dr. Loaiza-Bonilla served as president of the Pennsylvania Society of Oncology and Hematology, in addition to his role as assistant professor of gastrointestinal oncology at Abramson Cancer Center, Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, he held leadership positions at various research centers and medical associations. Board certified in medical oncology as well as hematology, Dr. Loaiza-Bonilla completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Harbor Hospital Center, Johns Hopkins Hospital. He then completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. He also holds a master’s degree in medical education from University of Pennsylvania, Penn Graduate School of Education.
