Harsha Vittal, M.D. is a gastroenterologist practicing in Northern California near the city of San Jose. He has been certified by both the Board of Internal Medicine and the Board of Gastroenterology. Among the many procedures offered at his private practice, South Bay Gastroenterology, Dr. Vittal specializes in therapeutic endoscopy intervention with procedures such as endoscopic mucosal resection for cancer patients and ERCP or endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography. He also regularly performs stent placement endoscopic closure of fistula along the entire gastrointestinal tract. Dr. Vittal, unlike many other GI doctors, performs endoscopic ultrasound, or EUS, a relatively new procedure used to stage esophageal cancer and determine proper modes of surgery or radiation therapy for patients with advanced tumors.
