My name is Dr. Bin-Sagheer, I am a gastroenterologist in the Brooksville and Spring Hill area of Florida. The question is can I take medication prior to my colonoscopy? In general, patients should stop taking medications at midnight the day before the colonoscopy. However, if you are taking heart medications or blood pressure medicines you can safely take it prior to the procedure with a little bit of water.
