Depending on your overall health you may be sedated during a colonoscopy making it painless. Some patients also are not sedated and have no pain. Please talk with your gastroenterology doctor about your concerns. Thanks.

With a safe amount of medications, colonoscopy is only mildly uncomfortable. The air that is put in will cause some mild discomfort but will pass shortly.
