What are the risk factors of colorectal cancer?

This question was asked in East Los Angeles, California on 05/25/2012.
I am so concerned with my health and I made sure I take only what is healthy. But who knows, I can't really be safe says some of my friends. They even said that having alcohol occassionally is very bad for your colon and increases cancer. Is this true?

If you lead a healthy lifestyle and have no family history, then you are at average risk for colon cancer and should be screened starting at age 50. Age 45 if you are African American.
